New Cycle Preview: A Must-Have Game for RTS Game Lovers
I would like to start by stating that the game that awaits us on our journey to take an in-depth look at Core Engage’s upcoming city-building strategy game is a much higher level game. Because while doing my research, I also had the chance to download the game’s demo and play it for a long time. Your primary goal on the path you set out on with a few people is to survive. For this reason, you need to quickly find food, water and shelter. Of course, it is not easy to provide these in a land at the top of the mountain. For this reason, you must first build the production facilities you need with the limited resources you have so that you can manage your life. Of course, the other personal game you are with is extremely understanding towards you at the beginning. Still, you need to work to meet their needs as much as possible without hiding behind this. When I say you need to work, I do not mean that you should go and collect the resources yourself. I am saying that you are already a manager and when you establish the production facility, assign workers to it and ensure that it operates.

When you set up your production strategy, you need to proceed by thinking that you are in real life. If you set up a mushroom collection facility and do not assign workers there and build a road, the fact that you set up the facility means nothing. Or if you set up the facility in a region where there are no resources. If you determine your strategy accordingly, you will not waste resources.
When I started playing the demo, I couldn’t get any results because the camp I set up to collect mushrooms was far from the area where they grow. However, after a while, I realized the management error when my people started to starve to death one by one. Of course, the game doesn’t leave you alone like that. It constantly gives you warnings, but I may have learned to follow that a little too late 🙂
Of course, the game is not designed to search for food in the wild and produce lumber. As you progress, you need to turn to different production areas for increasing resource needs. Metalworking is one of them. Wherever our most valuable mine is. We can produce all the small and large tools you will use in production thanks to this. However, it is not possible to simply say “let’s do it”.

The people you assign as advisors guide you in the points where you are stuck without realizing it. Scouts are like the solution to your depleted resource problem. You can send them to various parts of the map to make new discoveries and establish connections with other tribes.
As we said, the balance of the world is disrupted, even if the seasons are going their normal course, the occasional sandstorms and meteors shining in the sky can deeply disturb your peace. When you add the occasional fires that already bother you, it is seen that it is not an easy game. Because even though protecting the peace of your community seems like your main duty, even if you deal with diseases, provide them with shelter and feed them, sometimes deaths occur. This causes the population to decrease and your human resources to decrease. Thankfully, the migration and births you receive contribute to your workforce over time.

New Cycle also offers a development tree. Although it doesn’t force you to progress in the direction you want like an RPG game, you need to unlock all areas in this development tree in order to progress. Of course, they didn’t unlock all development in the demo. However, from what I’ve seen, there are many locks to unlock in many different areas (Adaptation & Sustainability, Building & Materials, Society & Diplomacy, and a development branch that hasn’t been unlocked yet).
I am happy to see that the developer Core Engage is a company founded in Türkiye. I had not heard of it before. After playing the demo for about four hours, I can comfortably say that I am proud that we can finally produce games like this. The part I played made me very eager for the full version to come out.
