The presentation started with a detailed explanation of the game’s box art. The cover art included the dangers we would encounter throughout the game, the vehicles we would use, and the locations. Unfortunately, I can’t show you the box art because it wasn’t shared with us. However, it looked like a poster for an Indiana Jones movie and it really excited me.

Story

The game will relive the classic adventures of Indiana Jones in full detail. Our hero Professor Jones wakes up one morning to the theft of a priceless relic, and this event begins a chase that will last around the world. During this chase, he meets Italian journalist Gina; Gina is also on a quest to find her missing sister. However, the duo is opposed by Indy’s rival, archaeologist Emerick Voss. Voss has been searching for mysterious artifacts by plundering the world. However, Indy discovers that the stolen artifact is only a small part of a larger global conspiracy.

Indy’s journey will take him to ancient vaults, lost civilizations and many other mysterious places. Throughout the game, Indy’s legendary tools and intelligence will be your greatest allies. Your whip is an important tool not only in combat, but also for advancing through lost ruins. In addition, your camouflage skills are also advanced; you will be able to use your disguise skills to infiltrate restricted areas.

While searching for a mysterious relic in the Himalayan mountains, Indy and his companion Gina find themselves in many different parts of the world, from Egypt’s Great Pyramid of Giza to Thailand.

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle offers detailed and intriguing environments that draw players in. The creators drew inspiration from real historical textures and discoveries when building the game’s world. For example, for the Sukhothai temples, the development team combined photographs and drawings from their expeditions to imagine a less restored version of the wild nature of that period. However, they did not limit themselves to historical accuracy alone when creating this world. They added their own fictional and fascinating temples, providing players with an experience that is both realistic and adventurous.

Throughout the adventure, you will travel between temples to discover ancient secrets and hidden ruins. One of the most intriguing places among these is the Sunsparker Chamber, a mysterious underground temple where an ancient and very valuable artifact is hidden. This is a fascinating ancient place, forged with the techniques of forgotten masters. Both historical and fictional temples offer players a visual and mental feast.

Clever Puzzles and Exciting Combat

One of the greatest characteristics of Indiana Jones is that he uses not only physical strength but also mental strength. The game lives up to this legacy; puzzles will be the key to the game. You will encounter all kinds of puzzles, from small challenges to huge mysteries that hide forbidden secrets. Solving these puzzles will make you feel like the world’s greatest archaeologist. Each one will challenge the player to find solutions by traveling through ancient tombs and avoiding deadly traps.

Throughout the game, you will guide your journey with Indy’s journals, notes, and photographs. The journal starts as a blank page, but over time it fills up with maps of the places you explore, photos you take, and letters you find. This archive will not only remember your discoveries, but will also give you clues about where to go next.

Fighting Mechanics

The combat system is also quite detailed. You will need to defend yourself with combos, blocks and parries. In close combat, you will defeat enemies with your intelligence and skills. You will be able to show creative fighting moves against your enemies with whips, guns and objects you find. Hand-to-hand combat looks and feels exciting. Developing strategies and timing your moves correctly in fights will be the key to success. You also have the chance to defeat your enemies stealthily; you can distract them by using objects around you and neutralize them without being noticed.

Gameplay

Indy, as always, moves forward with the logic of first taking the artifact, then running away. For example, he picks up an object as soon as he sees it, without thinking about whether it triggers a trap or not, and as a result, he starts running away. Sometimes, we need to create our own path to overcome the obstacles we encounter while moving forward. For example, although it is not possible to move forward on a flat wall like in Prince of Persia, we can pass through it by using a spear we will hammer into the wall with our whip. I would have liked to give more details about the gameplay, but what we watched was just a video, and unfortunately, since we did not have the chance to hold the controller in our hands and test it, I cannot give too many details.

Tactical Depth and Customizable Abilities

In the game, you will not only explore, but also develop your character. As you complete missions, you will earn adventure points to expand your skill set. Players will be able to customize Indy’s abilities to suit their play style. For example,  new abilities such as True Grit , which you unlock with the points you earn, give Indy an extra chance of surviving a fatal blow.

Following your curiosity while exploring can bring great rewards. In addition to the main quests, there is a world full of side quests, mysteries and secrets waiting to be discovered. The game’s world offers open spaces, giving players the freedom to find their own adventures. The world of the 1930s has been meticulously researched and recreated. A new secret or quest awaits you in every nook and cranny.

Although Indiana Jones and the Great Circle progresses linearly, open world mechanics are used in some areas. For example, market areas. As you wander around these areas, your chances of obtaining side quests increase. Such a side quest was also prominent in the content we watched. I won’t go into too much detail to avoid spoilers, but I should also mention that the quest we received here will be very useful in the later stages.

My love and curiosity for adventure games like Uncharted and Tomb Raider makes me wait for Indiana Jones more intensely. However, if what I see and hear when the game comes out is reflected accurately, I can say very clearly and directly that I will have become a fanatic for a brand new game. For this reason, I am eagerly awaiting Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, which will be released on December 9, 2024. Moreover, it will be on Game Pass from day one. John Williams’ immortal work is already echoing in my ears.
