The Casting of Frank Stone First Look : Created in collaboration between Supermassive Games and Behavior Interactive, The Casting of Frank Stone is set in the Dead by Daylight (DBD) universe, and Frank Stone appears to be at the center of that story. But even after playing the game’s intro, there are still a lot of questions about who this character is and how he fits into the story.

The Casting of Frank Stone First Look: A New Mystery in the Dead by Daylight Universe
Supermassive Games is known for its cinematic horror games like Until Dawn, The Quarry, and Dark Pictures Anthology. The company has teamed up with Behavior Interactive to bring a cinematic spin-off to the Dead by Daylight series. The game has a similar structure to Supermassive’s horror films, offering players an intense storytelling experience. However, it looks like DBD fans will have more information about this new game, as it gives more clues to those familiar with DBD’s universe.
The Casting of Frank Stone First Look
In the demo I played, some elements of the story seemed quite mysterious to me, and probably to other players unfamiliar with the DBD universe. For example, the character Frank Stone may have been the first to be possessed by the entity that is Dead by Daylight’s arch-nemesis, according to a popular theory in the DBD community. This means that DBD fans will be able to pick up on more details as they learn about Frank Stone’s story. However, even for players unfamiliar with this theory, Frank Stone’s story is a compelling tale of supernatural horror.
Gameplay and Story
First of all, I will say that the game is not an open world. We can’t go wherever we want, and although it can sometimes be annoying, the Turkish language support helps us ignore this situation a little. Although there are problems with the translation. I sometimes came across translation errors, especially in idioms.
During the demo, players are busy solving small environmental puzzles, interacting with NPCs, and making dialogue choices that advance the story. There are also instant reactions that resemble DBD’s familiar skill checks.

The story puts players in the role of a young police officer investigating the disappearance of a young child in the fictional Cedar Hills, Oregon. It is unclear whether this character will be one of the characters that will be controlled in the full game, but the demo serves to set up the story while teaching players the basic mechanics of the game.
The mystery of Frank Stone may make sense for fans who are already deep into the DBD universe, but it also makes for an engaging experience for players familiar with Supermassive’s style. The dramatic moments of the story and the interactions of the characters create the feeling of an interactive movie, with characters who may live or die depending on your decisions at the end of the game.
The game features replayability. The prologue offers a variety of conversations and directions, clues, collectibles, and conclusions. You can replay it multiple times to see the different branching narratives that can emerge from it. There are also Dead by Daylight Easter Eggs throughout the demo.

Graphics
Despite playing on a machine with a GTX 4070 graphics card, I encountered some screen tearing at 4K resolution, which suggests some optimization issues with the game. Of course, this problem went away when I lowered the settings, but the 4070 is a graphics card that can easily run such a game. I also got an average of 45-50 FPS in the game.
This new spin-off could bring new fans to the DBD universe while also adding an extra layer that will satisfy existing fans. However, the central mystery of the game will be the question players are most curious about, such as who Frank Stone is. If Supermassive Games can provide satisfying answers to these questions, they could have another hit on their hands. Behavior Interactive could expand on their already impressive horror universe.
Of course, to get answers to all these questionsrelease date We have to wait until September 3, 2024. The game will be released on Windows PC, Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X and PS5 platforms.
