Design

The Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 4 In-Ear Headphones maintain the design language of the previous model. The headphones and charging case have a stylish and minimalist look. With the new color options, it is possible for users to choose a model that suits their taste. The fact that no changes have been made to the external design may reduce the sense of innovation. We can say this as the only negative aspect. Maybe the headphones could have been a little more minimal, but it is worth saying that it is never an uncomfortable headphone, it does not feel uncomfortable in your ear even after very long periods of use. If we look at the new colors; graphite, silver and copper

Comfort

Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 4 In-Ear Headphones are a pair of headphones that offer comfort even during long-term use thanks to their ergonomic design and soft ear tips. The headphones come with three different sizes of silicone ear tips and fins, allowing users to find the most suitable fit for their ears.

The lightness of the headphones also prevents fatigue during long-term use. According to our own experience, we can say that even 3 hours of continuous use does not cause any discomfort.

However, it may be a bit big for some users and can come out of sweaty ears in hot weather or during active use. For such scenarios, fins can help prevent this situation. You can use any of the fins in different sizes to ensure that the headphones hold onto your ears better.

Overall, the Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 4 In-Ear Headphones are a good option for those looking for a comfortable pair of headphones.

Insulation

Sennheiser’s MOMENTUM True Wireless earphones have always been top-tier wireless earphones, and active noise cancellation (ANC) is one of the features that almost everyone who invests in such headphones looks for. The Sennheiser MOMENTUM True Wireless 4 performed quite well in our tests, achieving an average noise reduction of 83%.

However, to get the best performance, the earbuds need to fit snugly in your ears. We highly recommend you do the app’s aforementioned Fit Test to ensure your experience matches our results.

Achieving good isolation also provides significant benefits for passive isolation. In this regard, the Sennheiser MOMENTUM True Wireless 4 perform quite well, physically blocking almost 50dB at some frequencies. While these aren’t the best noise-canceling headphones on the market, they’re certainly a strong contender.

These headphones perform almost the same as other brands and models in the upper segment. Although Sennheiser headphones sometimes have a little trouble blocking out background noise, the ANC is generally quite successful. If you are a frequent flyer, these headphones will undoubtedly be a perfect companion for you.

Microphone Quality

Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 4 In-Ear Headphones reduce background noise with their improved microphones and AI Voice Pickup technology, while ensuring that the voice is transmitted clearly. This is especially advantageous during calls in noisy environments. It should also be noted that the improvements in sound quality compared to the Momentum True Wireless 3 model are not enough. Of course, this may be an area that Sennheiser can further improve with software updates in the future. Because the microphone quality had increased considerably with software updates in the TWS3 model.

Connection Quality

Thanks to the improved antenna design and the new Qualcomm chipset, the Momentum True Wireless 4 offers a more reliable and uninterrupted Bluetooth connection than its predecessor. Users can experience a stable connection even when switching between devices and moving around in different environments. In addition, the multipoint Bluetooth pairing feature makes it easy to connect to multiple devices simultaneously. We have not encountered any problems in our multipoint tests yet, and the headphones connect to the device very quickly as soon as we turn them on, and we have not yet encountered any disconnection or instability issues. The fact that the latest Bluetooth technologies are used in this area also has a big impact.

The Auracast and LE Audio features are also worth mentioning at the connection point. Auracast support is particularly exciting. Until now, Bluetooth provided a one-to-one connection between two devices. Auracast expands on this: This theoretically makes it possible to send audio from one device to an infinite number of receivers at the same time. In practice, this means that you can listen to announcements at airports or train stations directly via your headphones. You can think of this as a kind of Wi-Fi access point for audio only. Of course, you can also do this at home, in front of the TV or with your smartphone. This feature will be added to the Momentum TWS 4 via a software update in the future.

Sound Quality

The Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 4 continues to develop and deliver Sennheiser’s signature sound. It provides a balanced and rich sound experience with detailed highs, clear mids and defined bass. Qualcomm’s AptX Adaptive and Lossless audio codecs, when used with compatible devices, theoretically promise a more detailed and deep sound experience. If we need to expand on the compatible devices section a little; The Momentum True Wireless 4 supports lossless audio, but the source you use must offer this support, there are not many options at the moment. Some Android models have the Aptx Lossles codec, and you can reach lossless audio on these models. The

nuances between different codecs may not be obvious to most users. However, it is quite satisfying that a wireless headset offers us such an option. It is also worth noting that the sound resolution of the headset can be changed via the smart control application. Another innovation is pleasing for gamers. Again, with the Low latency mode that you will select from the sound resolution section, a separate resolution is offered for minimum delay while playing games, which is another notable innovation.

Sennheiser’s Smart Control app offers a wide range of EQ adjustment options and the ability to create a personal sound profile, allowing users to customize the sound according to their own listening preferences. Here, we need to mention the sound personalization feature. With this feature, you can make special adjustments for the sound you love to hear. At this stage, two different features that significantly affect sound quality need to be mentioned under separate headings. Sound personalization and fit test features;

Sound Personalization

By clicking on the sound personalization section in the EQ section of the Smart Control application, we can personalize the sound as we wish with a series of steps. These steps are as follows; first, it offers you a fit test, that is, you test whether the headphones fit your ears properly (we will talk about this feature in a moment), then it plays a sound and asks you to adjust the frequencies as you want to hear.

For example, if you want to hear less bass sounds, you turn the dial down or if you want the drum sounds to be dominant, you turn it up, and in the same way, the treble sounds and all frequencies are together… As a result of the adjustments, a map of the profile you have created emerges and you can make precise sound adjustments from there if you wish. Thanks to this feature, the Momentum True Wireless 4 instantly takes on a frequency structure that your ear is accustomed to or that you like to hear. The most important and crucial point we want to draw attention to here is that even if you increase the bass, you can still hear the treble frequencies clearly. This is a product of Sennheiser’s famous balanced sound signature. In other words, the adjustments you make to the frequencies here do not allow the structure of the opposite frequencies to be disrupted.

Fit Test

One of the most important elements for in-ear headphones is that the headphones fit your ear perfectly. In an in-ear headphone that does not fit your ear perfectly, you will experience incredible bass loss and general frequency loss, which will negatively affect your sound experience. Sennheiser eliminates this problem with its own “fit test”. We click on the fit test option on the smart control; in the first step, it shows how the headphones should fit in our ears, and then we start the test. When the test starts, we should not touch the headphones at all.

At the end of the test, if a headphone does not fit our ear properly, we get a warning. For example; “right headphone is not compatible” and we are advised to try different ear silicones. If both headphones fit our ear properly, the sound is successful. We can easily say that this feature works very successfully. It can easily detect even a very small mistake in wearing it on purpose.
